It’s a new year, and Season Two feels like a fresh page. Dr. Sylvia Morris and Dr. Angela Walker sit down to reflect, reset, and share what they’re carrying forward—and what they’re letting go of—as they step into 2026. They talk about alignment, luminous living, learning when to say yes and when to pause, and how to expand without losing yourself along the way. Full of honesty, warmth, and intention, this conversation is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and move forward with clarity, purpose, and a little more confidence in who you already are.

Boss Leap Season 2: New Year, New You Starts Now!
Stepping Into 2026 With Intention And Gratitude
Welcome to season two of Boss Leap. We’re stepping into the new year, new energy, and new leaps together. In this episode, we’re talking reflection, reinvention and what’s next for the Boss Leap journey. Angela, it is good to see you virtually. It’s been a few months. What’s going on?
It’s good to be seen. Life is good. I am grateful, happy to be here with you and trying to move forward in 2026 with intention, grace, and lots of gratitude.
Lessons From Last Year: Trust, Capacity, And Saying No
I love it. Do you have a word for the year 2026?
I think my word is alignment. Especially alignment that is supporting my health and my values. Everything that I choose to do is still aligned with being the healthiest version of myself, both mentally, physically, and emotionally. It aligns with my values, so I’m not compromising. Some of those values are getting rest, being supportive of others, and not compromising that. Also, my vision for life, my relationships, my business, and just what I have in mind for my community. How about you? What’s your word?
My word is luminous.
Tell me more. I like that.
With Boss Leap, our intention is to shine the light on women and their fantastic stories. That light also includes myself and you. In 2026, I want to continue to shine my light in ways that I had never imagined, that the Universe has in store for me and as a continuation of 2025, to step into this season of my life with gratitude and grace, as you mentioned. Also, not hiding my light under a bush, as one of my favorite childhood songs would be. Luminous fit together.
The more we lean into trusting spirit and ourselves as a corollary, the better things are and the more authentic we can be. Share on XI see it. I love it. May I say you look luminous.
Thank you. We try.
Let’s go back. When you think back on 2025, give me one lesson that you think changed how you lead or how you live.
2025 for me was learning more so how to continue to trust myself. I know sometimes that might strike people. That’s strange, but I’m embarking on all these new endeavors and much like you. When you talk about being in alignment with who I am as a person, not just as a physician, as the daughter or niece, but who I am at my core that spirit calls me to be. The more I lean into trusting spirit and trusting myself as a corollary. The better things are and the more authentic I can be. Again, that moves back into me, shining my light. That was it for me. I’m hopeful that in 2026, I will continue that, so trusting myself. What about you?
Mine is the fact that my capacity is not unlimited. There is honor in realizing my weaknesses. Its wisdom as we get older in knowing that we can’t do it all. If we try to do it all, we may not be able to do the things that we want to do well. Leadership comes in being able to say yes when it is in alignment with what you’re doing and what you have capacity for. It is not leadership when you are over committing and then not delivering on those deliverables with your full self. Realizing that my capacity is not unlimited, I have to know when to say no. A lot of times that means when it’s not an alignment with my purpose and my intentions at this moment in time.
Certainly, the next question would be then, is there something that you are no longer available for in 2026, especially the fact that your capacity is limited or not unlimited?
I don’t have anything specific that I can think of other than just making sure that I am keeping at the forefront what my goals are for the year and what my theme is, being in alignment with what I want to create for myself, my family, my relationships, and my business. When I have an ask, trying to fit that in and understanding whether or not that is beneficial to me and beneficial to those that I’m serving.
Whether it’s my patients, or my family, or my husband, or the show. Being intentional. I don’t know of anything that I’ve said no to, but making sure that I don’t shake my head and say yes before I think about all of everything that goes into the decision-making process and making sure that it’s aligned with where I’m trying to go. Does that make sense?
We can be beaten down and life can throw us curveballs, but know that we can make it through. Share on XIt does. I love that because sometimes I will say yes, but inside it doesn’t feel like a yes. What I’m trying to do in 2026 is if that initial is like, “Hard pass.” Honor that. There are certain situations where it’s harder for me to say no, whether it is work or a loved one. Maybe uncle William. That internal feeling of no. How I look at it is we are out of care. We don’t use profanity on our show, but I certainly have zero cares about being unauthentic. It’s because I don’t have any kids.
What’s the point?
It is your life. Is there anything bold that you want to do for 2026? Maybe there’s some things that we can tease for later on in 2026. What’s going on with you in 2026?
Bold Moves And Travel Plans For Growth
Travel in May. It always comes up in almost every episode that we’ve had but being intentional about travel. I don’t have anything specific that has a talk coming up in Aruba.
Did you say you have a talk coming up in Aruba like the island?
Yes. It is work but there’s also that capacity to be able to nourish myself. My family is coming along and creating the joy from just being because I love a good beach. Being able to enjoy all aspects of what we’re doing. In addition to Boss Leap, we’ll be talking about that. We haven’t taken some of our shows on the road and being able to enjoy the atmosphere of sharing women’s stories. Also doing it in a venue where we’re truly creating space for people to feel comfortable. We’re also traveling and doing some of the things that we want to do while we’re still “working.” What about you? Is there anything else?
2026 is me building me. People are always talking about you as a brand. I certainly am a brand. I hope to come to a city near you as a dual. You are and I will be in some cities across the country. I’m hopeful to do more public speaking, more podcasting, more television and more radio. Stay tuned. There will be lots of new things for 2026 for both Dr. Walker and myself.
Titles And Songs That Capture The Year Ahead
If you could give a title for what it looks like in 2026, what would it be?
I’m going to try and think of it as a song. Two came to mind. One is Big Sean and in its Blessings. You know I don’t sing so I’m not going to sing that. The other one, truthfully, if we go old school. It is Diana Ross because we’re huge fans of Tracee Ellis Ross and her song from the disco era is I’m Coming Out. It’s about me coming out of my shell and again, with my word of luminous and shining my light. Those would be my two songs. You know I always have more questions.

That all completely aligns with your word for the luminous. I don’t see it as coming out because you’ve always been forward with who you are as this constant source of information in terms of health, wellness, and not afraid to speak the truth to things. Also, expanding your horizons. I’m so happy to see this. You’ve been talking through media sources for a long time and you’re excellent at it but doing more, absolutely. We need more of that. I’m here for it, Sylvia.
Since you went there, I think I’ve already talked about my song, I believe, probably in a previous episode. It still always just resonates with me. It’s a song by the artist HER by The Journey. It still speaks to me every time I hear it. Essentially, it embodies the fact that we can be beaten down. Life can throw us curveballs, and this is nowhere in her lyrics, but it’s how it resonates with me in terms of enjoying the journey and knowing that I can make it through.
I’m here to make it through the fire. I believe in myself. I’ve seen the manifestation of that in the last few years and certainly in 2025. I’m excited to keep it going. My title for the year is the Year of Expansion. It’s expanding. The same as you, expanding what we’re doing on Boss Leap, my speaking and coaching program, health style, not being afraid to be that voice of authority and what we’ve done for years and years.
We’re both probably humble in terms of how we present ourselves to the world. Especially as we move along in our careers and talking to women on a daily basis. There’s power in the words that we have and I just want to be able to share that inspiration, knowledge and joy in a larger way. I love that we have a show that can do that. The year of expansion is the title that I would give.
Spreading Light And Expanding Impact
I love that expansion. What we do and what we bring our unique voices is so needed. Every time someone says to me, “I read your show. I enjoyed it.” I’m like, “Wow. Me?” First of all, it still blows me away that we have a show, people act, people talk to us and we have these wonderful conversations and we are spreading light in the world. Certainly, at this point and where we are in 2026, our voices are needed because we need more light. We need the affirmation of women doing amazing things. We want to continue to support each other. Expansion is a fantastic word for the year.
I agree. I’m the one that said that part but I feel like we’re in this season of just vessels. The wisdom that we had shared on this show in one season was enough to last me for years in terms of the authors that we’ve had, the people with financial health, the mental health space, the life lessons and the clarity that a lot of women have brought, have shared and how they have made transitions in life and encouraged others. I’m like you. The people that respond and say, “That episode was so fantastic. As a matter of fact, we would love to hear more of such and such, those sorts of things. It brings me joy. I’m happy to be on this journey with you and continue in 2026 and see what that brings.
As women, we all have voices. Whether you’re heard loudly and proudly or working behind the scenes, it’s incredible to hear other people’s stories—gaining education, learning lessons, and finding inspiration. Share on XI am in agreement. Are there any dream guests or themes that we want to tease for 2026?
We have a list of dream guests, to be honest. I would definitely put Tracey Ellis Ross on the top. She embodies everything that I love, just authenticity and being her true self. At least the way she presents. We just put it out there always, Michelle Obama. If you look back at our episodes, some of the people that have made the best guess are people that you may have never heard of, but they have lived phenomenal lives and made phenomenal changes in other people’s lives.
Those are the voices that we wanted to share in the beginning. As women, we all have voices. Whether or not you’re heard loudly and proudly or you are the woman behind the scenes. It’s incredible to hear other people’s stories and gather either some education from those things, some lessons of things not to do and just inspiration. How about you?
Looking Ahead: Dream Guests And Season Two Goals
It’s extraordinary to be able to have conversations with people. I liken it to every patient I see, there is something that I can learn. In sitting at the bedside and talking to patients, something always comes up. I’m like, “I didn’t know that.” Similarly with our guests, these incredible women that come on and we always have a list of questions that we’ve developed but something else always comes to the surface that is so powerful. I’m excited for all of our guests in 2026. If there are any suggestions for guests, please don’t hesitate to send us an email at BossLeapPodcast@Gmail.com. Please follow us on social media at Boss Leap on Instagram. Let us know who you like to see as one of our guests.
